After 15 years as a professionally sponsored Nike athlete, Shannon is expanding her relationship with the brand to include more consulting work. In her new role as a Nike “Legend” Athlete, she is able to support the development of new, innovative products, especially for women’s their Nike Women’s vertical.

Shannon has supported event broadcasts for USA Track & Field, World Athletics & Trackland. Her roles include In-stadium announcing and color-commentary, with the unique ability to speak about race tactics from the POV of an elite athlete.

In 2017, Shannon represented the US Department of State as a Sports Envoy to Morocco. In one week she reached 300+ athletes and coaches via small group, lectures, and hands on session. In 2022, Shannon continued her work with the Department of State when her non-profit Imagining More was awarded a Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund grand to host an empowerment through sport camp in Shannon’s hometown of San Francisco.
