Team Cook Players

cookCoach John Cook

John Cook headed the men's track and field program at George Mason University for 19 years. His former athletes included Abdi Bile, the 1987 1500-meter world champion. After retiring from GMU, Cook found a home with Nike and worked side-by-side with Alberto Salazar when the Oregon Project first got underway. Now living in Sarasota, Florida, Coach Cook preaches about how "little things become big things" when it comes to training and performing at your best. By incorporating running, stretching, strength training, core work, drills, flexibility, recovery, rehab and mental preparation, Cook successfully coached his athletes to berths on the 2008 Olympic Team and the 2009 and 2011World Championship Teams.
